Broken Glass technique tutorial

Hello, my dear crafting friends! Irit is here today with my Broken Glass technical tutorial.
All you need to make this broken glass look is a big background stamp , clear embossing ink and a lot of Clear embossing powders.
Step 1:
Pick your WOW Embossing Powders stamp. I picked Suzy West  French Music Background stamp.
Stamp a background stamp with permanent ink. I used black Memento, but any permanent ink will do the job. Please, not any kind of pigmented ink as it will be a mess after the first heat embossing step, unless you want to heat the stamped background a lot before the next step.

Step 2:
Cover the entire  stamped piece with  Clear embossing ink  and add a thick layer of  Clear Gloss Ultra High  embossing powder. Heat it and add 2-3 more layers of the same powder.  Cool it and add more clear ink all over. Now add a thick layer of  Clear Gloss Super  Fine embossing powder and heat it again. Make it 2-3 more times with the fine powder. The fine powder should cover  some spaces that are not totally flat in your  Clear Gloss Ultra High powder embossing.

Step 3:
Put your embossed paper in  your deep freezer and wait for a half an hour. You may eat some ice- cream while waiting as you are near it anyway.
Now take the frozen paper and break it all over as much as you can. Any wooden piece from your kitchen will do the job.  The thicker your embossing is and the smaller is you paper piece,  the better crackles will be shown. As  my paper is pretty big (so was this Music stamp), I can see just some small crackles around. On the other hand, maybe I didn't wait as long as it should be, as I was trying to catch the sunlight to take the photos of the next steps.
Add  some light brown distress ink over the embossed paper and   clean it with  a wet cloth.
Now we can see the broken glass areas and our background piece is done.

Step 4: Make a final project using your glass background . I covered Tando Creative brown  Misic chipboard with black pigmented ink and heat embossed it a bit with Ebony Black Ultra High powder for the glossy effect. Then I made this Prima paper background matting and made  this flowers cluster.
Other products used here:
American Crafts Black cardstock
Prima patterned paper , butterfly and flowers
Handmade Halo resin rose
Martha Stewart punch

This technique  works perfect over any printed images too (not a newspaper ones as those are not permanent), but patterned paper, magazine cuts etc.

And one final tip: use a box when you do your massive embossing, so you can pick all your leftover powder. I didn't... I need to mop my craft room as it looked like a sandy beach , but as my craft room is always a total mess, this was an obligatory anyway.
See you again next month!
